Secure Cloud Storage

Submissions and uploaded files are sent over encrypted connections and stored in managed cloud storage.

Where your data goes

Submissions start on the device that captured them, then upload to the FieldWaiver server over HTTPS, so data is encrypted in transit. Answers are stored in the FieldWaiver database, and uploaded photos and files are kept in S3-compatible cloud object storage.

What you get

  • ✓All traffic between devices and FieldWaiver encrypted in transit over HTTPS
  • ✓Uploaded photos and files kept in managed cloud object storage
  • ✓Records in the app scoped to your organisation, with members limited to their assigned collections
  • ✓Owner-only exports, share link management, billing and API keys
  • ✓Sign-in protection: passwords of at least 10 characters, rate-limited login attempts, and magic links that expire after 15 minutes
  • ✓Consent tracking and automatic deletion periods per form

Who can see what

Every FieldWaiver user signs in with their own account. Organisation owners can see every collection in their organisation; members only receive the collections they have been assigned to, both on screen and in the data synced to their device. Exports, share links, billing and API keys are restricted to owners. API keys are stored as a one-way hash and the full key is shown only once.

Good practice for your team

  1. Give each staff member their own login rather than sharing one.
  2. Make only the people who need exports owners; keep everyone else as members.
  3. Use a passcode on every device, because unsynced submissions are stored on the device itself.
  4. Remove leavers from your organisation and set a retention period on forms that do not need records kept indefinitely.

Storage allowances

Uploaded files count towards your plan's storage: 100MB on Free, 1GB on Starter, 5GB on Professional and 20GB on Enterprise. When the allowance is used up, new uploads are refused until you free space or upgrade. No plan offers unlimited storage.

Common questions

Is my data encrypted?

Yes, in transit. Every upload and download between your devices and FieldWaiver travels over HTTPS.

What happens if a tablet is lost?

Synced submissions stay on the server. Anything not yet synced exists only on that device, and data stored in its browser stays there until cleared, so remove the user from your organisation and rely on the device passcode.

Does FieldWaiver back up my data for me?

We do not advertise a backup service. Owners can export CSV and PDF copies whenever they want their own copy.
